Dating my Case xx 6249cv.

I need help dating my 6249cv.
Research on the Case site says the 5 dot/5X dating system was started in 2000 accompanied by the 'lighting S' on the Case XX logo.
Also, my knife has #0021 stamped on the bolster.
My knife does have the 5dot/5X dating system but the Case logo has a regular S and not the lightning one. See photos
I guess I'm easily puzzled, but I'm also guessing the AAPK membership knows the answer.
Thanks in advance

I agree, 2000. The number on the bolster means most likely numbered edition, the 21st copy.

The regular S indicates CV blades, I think. ::hmm::

That is correct. Case uses the lightning S for stainless steel blades and the regular S for CV blades.

And there is a Case tang stamps dating chart accessible here by clicking on Research in the light gray header up at the top of this page. Then scroll down to W.R. Case pocket knives age identification. ::tu::
