Looking to replace a 112 I carried for years, long since lost (stolen from truck?) Im noticing some vintage have radiused edges on body and some dont (?) and would like info on the significance if the “number of pins”.

The bolsters went from the squared edge to a radiused edge around 1980 or '81.
Pins... The nickel silver pin in the middle of the handle is a rocker rivet... ignore it. The earliest knives had two brass scale pins. During the 2 dot era (roughly 1974 to '80) the scales had two pins, then briefly had four pins, then made the transition to the three pins you see today. The changes in the number of pins happened due to changes in materials and manufacturing practices.

If you really want an old style squared off frame for a user.
Best way is to find one cheap with a broken or worn blade then send it to Buck they’ll replace the blade and make it look new again for $10. The bonus is it will have the old Macassar ebony.
My Dad had a squared off 110 in the 70’s. He rounded it all off with a file, then a couple years later they came that way.
