Making a mystery

Been slow in this section lately so will tell a true knife experience of mine. In 1978 I was working near Newport, Washington. This is heavily logged country. I always had a rifle in the seat next to me as I traveled and worked in the wooded country. I had a personal mission to reduce the coyote population, wherever I was. The roads being rough, my rifle bounced around in the seat. Getting to the job site, a fellow worked opened my passenger door and the rifle fell, scope first, onto the hard surface after it bounced off the running board. The scope took a beating. Knowing the rifle needed to be resighted, and working 12-hour days, left little time or opportunity to go to the range. I made a X on a piece of paper, marched out @100 yards and was going to attach it to a tree as a target, to check zero. With nothing to attach the paper with, I pulled out my pocketknife and used it as a nail. You can guess the rest. When this particular tree is harvested and made into lumber, my knife and bullet will be found together embedded deep. I can only imagine the guesses as to how a bullet and Buck stockman became entwined.
