All About Pocket Knives

Was hoping for help identifying this poor little guy. I got this when I was 5 or 6 circa 1976 or 7 -- my FIRST pocket knife -- from said Alligator Farm in Hot Springs, AR. I was with my grandparents, and upon returning home to central IL, my dad secretly took it away -- while I spent MONTHS crying over loosing it. Sometime in the early 2000's, it was returned to me -- GREAT. But Dad EDC'd the knife and did not preserve it for me --

So, I can see the tang stamp says U.S.A. But above that, I don't have good enough eyesight to make out the manufacturer. Any ideas?

I'm NOT 100% sure, I believe it was made by Colonial.
OR possibly made by The Ideal.

Pretty sure it's stamped "Ideal" (in script) over USA. Goin's shows that stamp used from c.1924-1986.

Thanks, guys! It's amazing to have had this since the late 70's, and just now finding out more about the make. Pretty much a worthless knife (I know, it has some value maybe) on open market, but priceless to me in remembering that trip with my grandparents!

I agree with Ken. It looks like "Ideal" to me too. I am glad
you got your boyhood knife. Clean it up and sharpen it
to give you years of pleasure.
