All About Pocket Knives

Hi,

I'm hoping you guys can help me chase down some information on some pen knives that belonged to my grandfather.

1st is stamped AC Penn Co on one side and 9324 on the obverse.
2nd is stamped VossCut Co, Germany on one side and has Soligren, with a stamped Rooster on the other.

Pen knives aren't really my thing, more into fixed blades, but I'd like to get these cleaned up and have an idea of what some of the backstory is with them, as well as a value if possible.

Any information your could provide or resources I could check out would be appreciated.

Good, in-focus pictures of the knives would help greatly in identification. Make sure that the pictures are straight-on and not taken from angles, with good lighting, and include the front & back, with blades open & closed, and a good shot of the tang stamps.
As far as monetary value, a good search on ebay (sold items only) of identical knives in similar condition is your best guide. Condition is paramount when valuing knives.

The VOSSCUT looks like a corn knife for shaving corns off one’s feet or a spey knife.

My impression of a "Corn Knife" is a very thin, razor type blade with a slight belly in the middle ot the edge and a slight flare near the tip. Can't tell from the pics how thick that blade is. My Grandmother used to cut her corns with a Durham Duplex razor blade and slice the offending shoe too. Gives me the creeps!

Yes the Vosscut is more than likely a "Corn" knife...I've always wondered why it was shaped more like a tiny straight razor. I don't have any experience with actual ivory, but I do think that the 2 small gouges would preclude it from being the genuine article (thinking thick plastic or some other synthetic material).

The 2nd one definitely looks like ivory & a corn knife. The extended choil curved on the bottom(likely to rest your thumb on while cutting toward you) & the straight spine are all characteristic of a corn knife blade.
