All About Pocket Knives

Adding the pictured reinforcement pins from the liners to the bolsters of their knives? The knife in the attached picture is a RRR Panthera but I've noticed them on my regular RRs lately as well. I imagine this goes a long way to eliminating gaps between the liners, springs, bolsters and scales to say nothing of making the frame of the knife very strong.

I've looked at the build of some older RRs I own as well as some of my Case and GEC models and I don't see this construction method. Is RR upping their game with this build technique or am I missing something commonly done?

Most production knives have the bolsters pinned on like this, but typically it is in a spot where it doesn't show. You have to disassemble most knives to see that booster pin most often.
The alternative would be to solder the bolsters in place. That is perfect for handmade custom knives, but for factory production knives soldering is too time consuming.

It is a terrific knife. Build quality is flawless to my eye. They appear to have upgraded their micarta as well. The grain it it looks almost like wood. Very happy with this purchase
