All About Pocket Knives

I've seen many of these over the years. Stamped Czechoslovakia, 2" closed, thin metal liners and celluloid scales just pinned on. Odd little "spoon" and a plastic or bone pick. I've passed them up many times but still curious. Looks like something from a gumball machine ????? Any info appreciated. J.O'.

The little spoon is an earwax spoon, the pick is a toothpick. Others I have seen typically have more tools, often with MOP covers. Some don’t. Here's some other posts about similar knives. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... =4&t=64250

Thanks fellers. It's complete as it is. Really a cheaply made item. Never thought about an earwax spoon.( Mom always told us not to put anything in our ears smaller than our elbows.)

My grandma had one of these knifes .she used the little spoon to scoop out red roaster snuff from a container that when emptied became a drinking glass .she would snort the snuff up her nose , Being a curios Kidd when no one was around watching I gave it a try myself .One try was all I needed to permanently brake me from developing a snuff habit.lol

Since we’ve derailed this thread anyway, I’ll add a story. One of the many different jobs I had while working my way through college was checking groceries at a Piggly Wiggly store. They kept tobacco products including several brands of snuff at the checkout counter. If someone wanted a tobacco product they had to request it from the checker.

When checking out, older ladies would often request a jar of Levi Garrett snuff, and specify they wanted a jar with a specific number of “dots” on the bottom of the jar. They were usually adamant about the number of dots they wanted and if we didn’t have a jar with that number of dots in stock usually they didn’t want it. Many a time I had to go through the jars behind a checkout line other than mine, in an effort to find a snuff jar having the specified number of dots. Sometimes I’d hear two ladies arguing over which was better - they all had their favorite.

One day when the tobacco distributor delivery guy was in the store, I asked him what the difference was in the content of those jars. He laughed and said “nothing - those dots designate where the jars are made. They’re all filled at the same plant on the same line.”
