I recently bought this knife cause I liked how it looked. It has a 2002 tang stamp but no model number anywhere on any blade. I’d like to know model number and handle material if & anything else about it if anyone can help. Thank you & have a very merry CHRISTmas.

Looks like a 301 but it could be a 303. Depends on the size. The 303 has a closed length of 3 1/4 inches. The 301 is larger.
I can't be sure about the handle material.
A very merry Christmas to you as well, Sir.

Buck referred to those scales as Poly Pearl. I think they were a WalMart exclusive, and that it's a 303. I don't think the 301 was offered in Poly Pearl.

Any idea why they didn’t put 303 on the tang like other 303’s I’ve seen?

From 1986 onward most Buck knives had the model number stamped on the second line of the tang stamp, and the model number was followed by a symbol corresponding to the year of manufacture. In 2002 all the knives had the anvil stamp on the second line, it commemorated Buck's 100th anniversary. The stamp had to be large enough to be recognizable, and it just didn't leave room enough for the model number.
The anvil can also denote Custom Shop knives, and a couple of other things that don't leap to mind at the moment. You're right about your knife being a 2002, though.

The year 2005 was an exception. The Buck Anvil was used to denote 2005, and for some reason the model number was not used. These polypearl
303s had a model number for other years and used a date stamp.
