All About Pocket Knives

My first post! I've been a knife collector/fan all my life and my knowledge is average or better, but I am constantly reminded of how much more there is to learn. I recently came across a bullet knife that has me bewildered. It came from a formidable collection and does not look counterfeit to me, but I am hoping that someone out there could look at pictures I have and tell me what it is. I am not familiar with all of Remington's tang stamps etc... I have several more pictures than what I have posted here.

Welcome to the site !! I am not an expert on Remington but this one doesn't look quite right to me.
We have a member named Remington Collector and I'll bet he will stop by in a while.

Sorry, its not an authentic Remington Bullet. The cold stamped pattern number, the non-Remington bone handles, the odd shaped spey blade, wrong finish on the blades, wrong spacing on the bolster cuts, wrong number of handle pins, are a few things I see wrong with the knife.
On a side note all of the 4466 were supposed to have stag handles, but there have been some that came from the factory with bone.

Thanks very much for your help! I wonder where this thing originated, it doesn't seem hand made, it appears to be a factory job. Do you think it is an unauthorized repro or pieced together by someone? Once again I appreciate the input, I was thinking about selling it on ebay and want to give as much info as I can about it's possible origin.

Frost made a knife identical to that (except for the shield), back in the 80's. They had bone handles, which were butt-ugly. I used to rejig 'em, and dye the handles. (But I still sold 'em as Frost !)

The Frost had no shield at all.

That's just a guess, of course.

I don't think the shield is glued, it is hard to tell though.

Did that Frost knife have the Remington Tang Stamps?

wrong jig pattern and bone color, spey blade looks funky and tangs look cold stamped as mentioned before.

Seller did a nice job listing this knife.

I absolutely agree with you rem. collector! GREAT JOB Brian!! Not that I would before, but I definitely wouldn't have any reservation bidding on a knife you have listed. It hasn't been that long ago a fellow asked about a knife on here and by the time he got to auction with it .....well it was a little different than what the guys had told him. My hat is off to you sir (Brian) and a big !!

I appreciate the kind words, and also the expertise. I really enjoy selling knives on ebay, but more than that I enjoy buying them (If I didn't sell most of what I bought, I would be living under a bridge, with a bag full of pocket knives).

I do ebay for fun, I enjoy it and maybe make a little money sometimes, and in my opinion any ebay seller that doesn't offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee is probably not worth dealing with. I know I have accidentally misdescribed knives in the past and I'm sure I will again in the future.

BTW. I am going to post another question on this forum. This one refers to a German tang stamp that I don't recognize and can't find in any book I have. Any help would be appreciated!!!
