All About Pocket Knives

Found this interesting, William Jackson & co Sheffield I found they made knives from 1850s to around 1890s. I havnt seen any blades with the destination stamped on the blade.

That's pretty nice. A well used pruner showing off a little history.

I don't believe I have seen that kind of stamping either.
Many knives from Sheffield and other places were destined for America.

I wonder if the stamp had to do with some tariffs or something at the time? I have no idea, I am only brainstorming. I hope that someone has documentation that can clear it up.
No matter the reason, it is a really unique stamp.

Since I collect horticultural knives, it must have been meant for me .The mail really gets messed up this time of year.

That old school typography stamped on the blade is just beautiful. Definitely a great little piece of history there.
