All About Pocket Knives

I bought this on an auction- I was curious if this is modern or older? Could the handles be ivory? Overall knife is a little over 12”.

The handle looks to be bone. Doesn't look like a modern piece to me. Could be a purchased blade that was fitted with the handle by native artisan. Hefty looking knife!
