Rotten P-nut

A customer sent me A xx Pnut that was celluloid and gassed off and had eaten through one of tbe liners. So I had to find a donor frame. Was able to find a rough black frame that was perfect but blades and springs were toast so I transplanted the blades and springs to the new frame. I had a set of green bone scales off of a Bradford era Hawkbill that was broken on one end. And the good part of those scales was large enough to use on this P-nut. (That is why I save scraps
). Customer loved it.

I have a Standard Knife Co. with bad cell I got in a POS Exchange or two ago, and I had suspected it was one Case made on contract, and it appears so. Need to get it out and get it fixed.

Another sweet save BIGHEAD. Fascinating to me that the old Bradford era bones are still strong enough to do the job. Would think they were so old they would crack and split while working on them. But then again, a master craftsman like you with those mods probably has no problem with such small details. Very impressive and beautiful results. Keep them coming, love seeing whatever old knife you are saving or vastly improving with the re-scale jobs. Great advice to save the scraps too. I try to live by it.
