All About Pocket Knives

Any of you expierenced collectors of Camillus know when the CAMCO pattern #533 was manufactured? .....and what type of steel? It sharpens to a razor edge, but the finish has more of a high polish than the other Camillus carbon steels I have come across.

Based on that handle material my guess would be 1950's to early 60's for that partticular knife....later they used jigged brown delrin handles that were more of a medium brown color with a different style jigging.

I don't know the answer to your question but am interested in the answer. I acquired this one in a lot I bought recently. Looks like it has seen a fair amount of sharpening. s-k

I don't knowwhy my post appears twice Anyway... I gave it a little run across the stone and it seems quite sharp. I think the scales are faux bone... delrin? Do you collect these knives?
