Bryan: another question for ya; Do I understand correctly the only year case built the 6265 w/ larger bolster & lanyard hole was '64? If this is correct, what would the tang stamp look like? I'm asking 'cause I have one w/ the larger bolster, drilled back bolster, & '65-'69 tang stamp.

By the way, I need help dating an old LF&C jack knife, anyone here know their Landers? If so, I'll be glad to try posting a pic.

Hello Jeff,

Case changed the frame and started drilling lanyard holes on the 6265 pattern in 1965. During the transition, there were some old style blades put into the new frames. There were also a few old style frames drilled for a lanyard. So... you may encounter 6265 patterns with the post 1964 frame and the 45 - 64 tang stamp. You may also find a 6265 pattern with a pre 1965 frame that is drilled for a lanyard.

check here to see what the tang stamp looks like.
