What Pattern Would You Call this Knife?

This is a Hen & Rooster with a swell center, slight serpentine frame, very nice pearl handles, tip bolsters and 4 blades, none of which are a file blade. All of the blades have swedges and long pulls. I wanted to call it a gent's knife but without a file, that doesn't work for me. A Senator pen? I think the senator pen is supposed to be equal end and have straight sides. Is it a Wharncliffe pattern with 4 blades?
What say you?

That was my first thought: a 4-blade Wharncliffe Whittler...or to be all-inclusive: a 4-blade
Gentleman's Wharncliffe Whittler!
But, whatever you call it, it certainly is a beauty and very unique...don't think I've ever seen one quite like it before. Cool bolsters, too.
Curious: what is the closed length?

I’m thinking it’s a double-ended swell-center serpentine jack with tipped bolsters. Ruled out wharncliffe because there’s no wharncliffe blade. Ruled out pen because it has a clip master (but it does have a pen blade, so I guess it could quailify
). Kind of an exaggerated serpentine shape so I wouldn’t quarrel with it being called a double-ended dogleg jack either. And I would say because of the MOP you could add :“gentleman’s” to the description also.
Gentleman’s MOP double-ended swell-center serpentine (or dogleg) jack with tip bolsters.
Call it what you will, it’s a nice knife in any case. I’m curious about the closed length too.

It measures 3 1/8th inches long. I agree, it is a beauty and I have never seen one like it either.

I’d call it a 4 blade, serpentine, tip bolstered, candle end pen knife for short. Not sure what the long name would be.

With that swell bellow the center pin it's a dead ringer for a Norfolk pattern.

I had to look that one up. LG4 lists it in the appendix but I find no examples in the pages.

In LG4, on page 255 there are pictures of two Norfolk pattern knives in the whittler configuration.

Thanks, Danno. I checked 'em out and I'll swear, I don't believe I have ever run across that pattern before. Mine is close to that but with less extreme features. Maybe more flowing features would be the way to say it.

Hey! That is another possibility. I am inclined to describe the frame as a Wharncliffe, even without a Wharncliffe blade.

Ray here ya go, this is from the old Schrade catalog since that's what I had handy. The Norfolk pattern is more akin to the Wharncliffe pattern with the addition of the swell at the center pin. They also have a pronounced size difference in the bolsters.
The previous suggestions of a serpentine swell center are also possible. That frame would be less curvy than a Norfolk, with a straighter top (front edge) and more curve at the backspring. The bolsters are also more uniform in size. Here's an example from Schrade, they called it a serpentine balloon pattern:

Eric, This looks like a good possibility to me. Charlie's Eureka also is worth a mention as a good candidate.

Well Ray, retailers are calling it a Whittler, go figure. I did a search on H&R 234-MOP, which is the pattern number on the box. Hope this helps!
I might add, lots of fire in the pearl on the one I have, very gorgeous.

Well, I guess that the simplest solution would have been the correct one but it sure doesn't seem right to me.

I found this 'sold' knife by Sanders that is Deer Stag but looks like your frame without your MOP. I hope this helps.

viewtopic.php?f=67&t=61809&p=1017430&hi ... 6#p1017212. Not candle-ended or tip bolsters, has similar but more exaggerated shape. I think Remington called this a humpback Lockback whittler (but it’s a whittler - can’t bring myself to call that H&R a whittler despite what the box says
).
This “clone” version of mine stamped Schatt & Morgan (made by Queen) also has the more exaggerated bulb on one end but does have a candle-end on the other.
