Can anyone shed some light on the history of the "United Boker" brand? Says Solingen on the tang and the shield is the United Globe with the Boker Tree inside. How did United get in on the Boker act?

Don't judge United by the few cheaply made knives you may have seen. They could have a fine knife made, and even Camillus made some great ones for them. And for a while United Cutlery was a major player in the knife biz

Hi Hairsplitter.

Funny how things happen in pairs. This same question was asked in another forum I visit.

United Cutlery, back in 1985, partnered with Boker of Germany to build knives for import. These were the United Bokers. They did into 1990.

Thanks, needbucks. I think we may be members of the same other site if it begins with s. I have the book you cite but you must have been more thorough in researching it for the answer. Keep sharp!
