Why do I carry a knife?

I think we all carry a knife for more or less the same reasons.

I did not watch the video, but I carry a knife first and foremost for utility. It is like an extension of my hand. It is my most valuable and most used tool by far.
Beyond that though, I carry a knife because it gives me a feeling of preparedness, and who doesn't like being prepared?
Of course there is also the tradition aspect to it, I feel like it links me to my forebears, and keeps me connected to my past.
I also like having it in my pocket to fidget with and admire.
Those are just a few reasons off the top of my head....

If I forget to slip a knife in my pocket I feel like I'm half naked.
