September 2022 Knife Giveaway

For the September giveaway, we have an Al Mar Knives 40th Anniversary SERE Linerlock Black Folding Pocket Folder Knife compliments of David Roberts (aka dlr110). Its features include a total length of 8.4 in.; closed length of 4.8 in.; blade length of 3.6 in.; Blade Material: D2 (HRC: 58-60)
Blade Style: Talon; Blade Finish: Satin; Handle Material: Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon; Liners: 420 stainless Steel; Weight: 5.2 oz.; Pocket Clip: Rotatable, Titanium Coated; Opener: Spring Assist.
When you claim this knife, as a bonus, you’ll get a signed copy of David's book "The Cutting Edge, Man's Most Important Invention." Enter early, enter once, and good luck to everyone!
Instructions for entering the giveaway...
Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 999.
You will have until September 30th (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number, after which entries will not be considered. The Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing will determine the winner on September 30th.
The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years of age and either (a) have made at least 100 total forum posts at the time of entering the monthly giveaway or (b) have previously donated successfully to at least one prior monthly knife giveaway.
Please ensure that your Board Preferences Miscellaneous Notifications are set to notify you via email when someone sends you a Private Message (PM) to ensure the time requirements below are met.
The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have three days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within three days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.
The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM, and they will have one day to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within one day, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next player on the list without going over.

Tom, how about adding this to the monthly announcement? I know it's already in the rules section but it doesn't stand out down there and you know how allergic people are to reading. I think this addition more readily catches the eye.

to me that's akin to warning labels telling people not to drink battery acid or that coffee is hot and they could get burned

Speak now or forever hold your peace ..... you have approximately 1.5 hours left to win the beautiful prizes that have been generously offered up by this month's donor.
As an FYI - David will be unable to mail after October 5th for a bit so quick timing on the winner's part will result in quick delivery of the prize.
As of right now, 16 participants are ineligible to become the winner, and their numbers will not be considered in declaring a winner tomorrow morning as they did not have the minimum number of posts needed to participate when they entered the contest (warman, Pocketfulofteeth, Hack352, Dbkirk67, Cherokee121, chickenman62, Martinrusso, Garyslt, Jak, 227thcrewchief, rugerman44, jtb, Lama, CarMan, JonTerry, srm65). Forum participation has it's benefits.

Congratulations to New_Windsor_NY whose pick of 666 was 12 less than the winning lottery number drawn last night of 678. Skip now has 3-days to reply to the PM in his inbox and claim his prize and that beautiful knife and book will be on their way to a new home. Congratulations Skip!
There were 74 participants this month, 22 of which didn't meet the eligibility requirements, 6 of which have made zero posts to our forum. You can't win if you don't contribute to our forum, it's as simple as that!
