All About Pocket Knives

Picked up a load of old knives and this one was included. Beautiful knife, just have no idea of the make, as there is no makers marks or stamps of any kind. Thanks in advance for any help provided. You guys are awesome.

It might be Western or Schrade, but fixed blades aren't really my area of collecting.

Not a Western. All 39/40 pattern knives had the bifurcated tang construction. To my knowledge, Western never had "rainbow" handles.

I've seen that "rainbow stack" before, but I can't remember what knife it was or who it was made by. I lean toward Schrade, but Imperial also had knives with similar blade shapes. Looks a lot like a Schrade 148, but the 148s I remember seeing did not have jimping on the thumb rest.

Probably NOT a Schrade or Imperial as those companies stamped their names on their knives' ricassos.

I have a Schrade Walden 148 which has the jimping on the thumb rest. Wooden handle.
It might be a Glyco Freeze USA the knife I have has no tang stamp but Glyco freeze U.S.A. etch on the blade. 9" 1/2 long. I think they were made by Schrade.

I think it a Schrade. Have been wrong often.
