I recently acquired my first Robeson knife. I was intrigued by
the
Flame Edge patent
The monograph will join my other monographs in my knife book.
Any comments welcome.

Robeson’s ShurWood handles are not plastic. They are a resin impregnated, multi-layer wood material that Robeson produced in a specialty shop, although I do not know where it was located.
They used ShurWood for knife handles on pocketknives, hunting knives, kitchen and table cutlery, BBQ sets and they even made ash trays with it.
I sold a knife just like that one this past weekend in Lexington.

ShurWood was basically the same as Case’s Paccawood.
They also made knife cases and display boxes out of it.
