All About Pocket Knives

So looking through the search real quick, I see lots of post about stockman knives, but no actual post dedicated to these style knives. Is it worth starting a thread? I see many members have at least one…..anybody want to start?

This is actually one of my favorite knives. Not all that old but excellent condition, solid and sharp with great snap - and it looks good, too!

The Stockman pattern seems to have a blade for most occasions. I always seemed to gravitate to the Trapper pattern but have found the sheep foot just makes a Trapper better.

Stock knives are certainly worth having.

Now you’re talking. I could fill pages of this thread with Stockman’s I have/had. It’s my favorite pattern. Sowbelly’s are my personal favorite of all knife patterns.

I guess it’s my turn too…My new pick up, an Olcut stockman.

I get so stuck on the “old” knives. Another of my stockman knives, an early Union (Not Union cut co) stockman

Me too. It’s amazing how a shield will make or break a knife. Some are just better shields than others.

Man, this page has just lit up today! Love seeing all these cool knives!

There's likely some stockman threads on knife lore forum.

Schrade USA 885UH in genuine stag from the factory.

Unfinished, and I'm unsure what the release was, and given this is an unsharpened, incomplete "end of days" knife (still mostly complete--as the only two things I noted were unsharpened blades and no shield), it makes me wonder if said series even was released.

Yes Sir! That one has the full length spay and a healthy sheep foot.
Wade, that Western makes me wonder if there are other makers with a long spay blade and clip on the front end of a Stockman like yours?

Here are 3 of my all time favourites.

1) Utica Kutmaster Purina (Thanks John!) EDC

2) Camillus 72 with Ginger Ale / winterbottom bone handles from SLK (Thanks Jeff!) Showcase
I'd love to EDC this Bad-Boy but it's my only 72.

3) Stamped only with Stainless Steel. Solid knife with half stops. (eBay) EDC

As you can see, I like long pulls.

Some of the newer ones are pretty nice, and of course I love the old ones.
