All About Pocket Knives

I picked this up recently and can’t seem to find any references that really describe this knife and service/time frame

Flat blade (no fuller) , 6 inch long blade, stacked leather handle with black plastic (Bakelite?) pommel…not seeing any other blade ID other than the “CASE” stamp

Any thoughts….,Fighting knife seems to be an overused phrase out there, so just curious if any of the community has a thought on it.

From your description you have a WW2 manufactured Case fixed blade. None of these were GI issue but some were sold at PX stores and carried by soldiers or sailors. Many of the flat blade six inch ones like yours were parkerized and that would definitely lead that they were made to sell to the military folks. It also likely that plain polished ones were sold as hunting knives, but they are liked by and in collections of military specialists. I think it would be more properly designated as a "utility/fighting knife" rather than fighting knife alone.

Looks like a Model 3025-6 Listed in Case Catalog in 1934 discontinued between 1964 -1965 I think the Bakelite Pommel put's it in the world war 2 era someone with more info will come along and be more pacific
