All About Pocket Knives

I've purchased several Moore Maker folding knives in the recent past, but I wasn't sure who made them for MM. I've called them on several occasions when I had just one knife to ask about, but this time I sent an email to them and they responded today. Here is the email they sent back to me. BTW these are very nice folks and are willing to help anyway they can. Give them a call sometime. You may need to enlarge the image.

They are great to deal with. I snagged a couple made by Queen, 5 blade sowbelly is my fave. Would like a couple more but I try real hard to stick with Queen made knives, as a rule.

I picked up a few Moore Maker factory seconds at the Bear and Son sale back in November. They are excellent knives.
Bear and Son can make great knives, though they don't have a reputation for it. I think that a lot of their Seconds get resold and the buyers are not told they are Seconds.

Got an email ad from MM with this new knife "Proudly Made In Texas"
I ordered one and after I receive it I'm going to send them an email
asking who made it if it's not shown on the box. Not really my type of
knife it just peaked my interest.

Well it came in and I'm not a fan unless I was using it for work. For me it might be good out in the shop but not in my pocket as an EDC. It's a little big in my hand but it won't slip out because the handle is rather rough. At the advertised 5.5 oz's it's a little heavy for my liking. As far as I can tell it's quality material and the assembled is very good. I'm sure it will appeal to some of you more than it does to me. I'll stick with the old traditional.

Many years ago, i remember buying perfect Remington blades that had been taking out of knives, so they could be replaced with Moore Maker blades. Dose anyone here know the story behind this?

I just received an email from Moore Maker, this knife is made by
Brian Hoffner knives down in Cypress, TX. near Houston. The knife
is one he had designed for his own inventory and MM ordered them
with their markings.

I have several Moore Maker branded knives and I find them to be a quality product. I suspect that Moore Maker's contract with various co tract makers require a higher level of performance than what the maker may require of themself for their own branded products, and maybe more quality control too.

I still like that my Moore Maker purchases come in a hand addressed box. Ot tells me that Moore Maker is a company of people and is not just some sort of sales and fulfillment bot.

I've been wanting to buy a MM with the Mesquite handles but they always wanted too much for me.
Now it's not a bad price so I ordered one.

Got this 3.5" Trapper from Moore Maker in the mail today.
I've been waiting for them to lower the price a little on the Mesquite Wood Handle. The description states it is "1095 HC steel hardened to 56+/- 1 Rockwell." One of the guys saw my name on the order and went ahead and wrote "Bear + Son Jacksonville, FL." I also had them engrave
SR. CHIEF ROBERTS on the mark side. It will be a good EDC knife.
