Marbles Gunstock lockback

Got this in the mail yesterday.
It has rosewood handles and I really like the locking mechanism.

That particular type of lockback release is commonly referred to as a "Humpback" fellas!

And that's one pretty knife you have Tim, although I'm not seeing the "gunstock" profile, was it referred to as a gunstock in the listing?

Yes it's listed as a gunstock because the handle jigging is similar to the pattern on gunstocks.
I have a Rough Ryder trapper with what they call gunstock bone.

AH, thanks fellas!

I was under the impression that "gunstock" ONLY referred to the shape of the body, didn't know it also refers to a certain kind of jigging!

As usual, I've learned something new just by participating in this forum!

I’ve always referred to gunstock as the pattern(shape of the frame). I would be more inclined to call the fling pattern checkered also.
