Fathers Collection

I apologize if this is the wrong thread. My father passed away very sadly a few months ago and had a very large pocket knife and knife collection. I know very little about the pocket knives and was wondering if anyone here on the forum would be open to looking at some pictures and helping me determine what they are and what the value would be for the collection. I have two young daughters so I can’t keep 300 knives at the house.
Any help of course would be greatly appreciated. Again apologies if this is the wrong forum if someone could direct me to the correct one that would be great also.

David thanks for the response! My father had some beautiful knives. Some I believe are very old but I just don’t know enough about them. Hoping someone can help me out!

I would suggest if you wish to sell some, any, or all your Dad's knives here on this site that you post pictures. That way folks can actually see what the knife is and not have to go by a verbal description. You will save yourself a lot of returns of knives that once seen and handled by the buyer turn out to be not what they were expecting. My condolences regarding your Dad, things like that are never easy. Good to have you here! Mark!

Welcome to AAPK. My condolences for the loss of your father. Unfortunately situations and questions similar to yours come up here too often - collections inherited by heirs who know little about knives.

it never crossed my mind that you could text pictures, and that's likely because I don't have a mobile phone! But I see you've posted pics on site for those of us without mobiles, so thanks!

There is no way to value knives shown with blades closed. There is no way to know the maker, the age or the condition. By looking at the shields some might be Rough Rider which are modern day knives made in China. Nice knives but low value (~ $10 if unused).
Even with old pocket knives in excellent condition, most do not have a high value. That said there are some brands like Case, where a 75 yr old knife or older can be worth as much as $2000 or more.
My daughter has grown up since infancy with hundreds of knives scattered over every flat surface and she never touched them or wanted to explore them.
