All About Pocket Knives

I’ve got a bit of a mystery on my hands, and would appreciate any help. My dad recently passed, and had this in his belongings. My family was in the cotton business for generations (growing and running a gin). I think I have it narrowed down to a few people in our family who might have originally owned it, but some date information would help. The knife seems to be a cotton sampler. It looks very similar to a Winchester 1624. I’m not sure if Carl Schmidt & Sohn made blades for Winchester knives. This knife would have been in Southeast Missouri in the early to mid-1900s. Our family wasn’t wealthy. I wondered if this wasn’t available from one of the catalog companies of the day. No other marks on the knife other than name and logo/proof mark of Carl Schmidt Sohn. Thanks in advance for any help.

That’s a German maker. “& Sohn “ would be “and Son” in English. Try searching “Carl Schmidt & Sohn” in the “European Knives” category.

Levine’s Guide lists C. Schmidt in Soligen, Germany 1728 till present. JO’
