All About Pocket Knives

I want to try to rehandel a knife so I have picked up and I hate to say this but it is china knife , I thought if I screwed it up no loss I want to try blood wood , or should I just go with cheap wood to start, any thoughts the knife I have is like a Buck 110

I suggest that you start by looking at some of the excellent tutorials we have here on AAPK (they are on the forum titled "Knife Related Tutorials"). They were a tremendous help to me when I got started years ago. Beware though, this hobby is addictive!

If you are starting with a cheap knife I think you should go in kind with a cheap handle material.

I like your idea of starting with wood for the handles. Wood is very forgiving, and you can find decent pieces and off-cuts pretty much anywhere. I have gotten some beautiful slabs out of a stick of oak firewood!
Try different things on different knives. Pick up a few broken knives at a flea market, or thrift store, etc, and have fun!

Good luck on you new endeavor I started with wood on my 1st rehandle it is forgiving but you can still split it when you pin. Believe me I know. There are a lot of good people on this site that will help you. I know they did for me. Have fun. I think you will enjoy it.
