All About Pocket Knives

This pocket knife arrived recently in a large group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. I did NOT purchase the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did turn out to be a keeper. It is a Kabar, pattern 1026, two blades, single tang stamp, 3" closed, pocket knife. The main blade tang stamp reads "Kabar - 1026 - U.S.A." It is in GOOD condition.
It needed a minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice one Skip. I see some serious EDC potential here.

Nice knife. I have a couple that I modified for whittling. Solid knives, and they take a nice edge. They were already broken and worn when I got them. Just a testament to how much use and abuse they held up to.

Perfect mods.

I friend of mine has carried a Trapper that was his father-in-law's since he found it back in the 1970s and it's held up well. I have a 1081 that is pretty good. The 1026 is the one I think I will like quite well.


I have a jack that is just over 4" in parts knife condition. Does anyone know what Kabar patterns matched it? I'd love to have one that is decent enough to EDC.
