All About Pocket Knives

I bought this at an auction with a bunch of older Case knives. Does the tang stamp look authentic? I looked through my Case book but haven’t been able to determine the model. Any help is appreciated!

I am not an expert in authentication, but that looks highly suspicious to me. It looks like a single blade Trapper. But I do not trust the tang stamp, and I have never seen that kind of scale - probsbly celluloid - on a CASE TESTED XX knife.

Sorry about the clarity of my statement. I found the above picture in my book on Case knives that shows a Case Tested knife with Celluloid handles (different pattern than mine)

I don't see anything about the knife that would lead me to believe it is authentic. Blade, stamp, handle material all look bad to me.

I bought it at an auction from a collector that passed away and he had quite a few older Case knives. I wondered about it and should have passed it by

Doesn't look authentic to me and there is no mention that I can find of a single blade trapper pattern from the Tested era. If the closed length of the knife is 4 1/8 inches Then it would be a 54 pattern which is called The Trapper. Probably a fantasy knife made in someones basement.

I don’t like the knife or the stamp. The celluloid on the OP knife is not the same as the one in the picture, which is glitter stripe celluloid.

The OP knife is junk, made out of a Queen trapper.

The tang stamp does look a bit off, and the tang itself looks to have been ground down.
The shape of the frame also does not look like a Case frame to me (though none of my Case trappers are from the Tested era, so I may be wrong there.)
