Comments are considered one way of measuring the degree of ‘meaningfulness’ of individual posts and our forum overall. The general forum theory is that posts that attract more comments are more likely to resonate with a wider audience, as the comments indicate a higher degree of engagement on the part of the forum members. A "LIKE" button, while easier to use, would yield a lower degree of engagement which is the opposite of what AAPK is trying to accomplish.
