Any Info. or Ideas About This Can. Kayser Knife????

This one came to me in a collection I purchased a while back. The only Kayser I see in Goins is C.F. Kayser, Solingen. I think the tang stamp is pretty clear and it looks like Can. Kayser, Solingen to me. I'm wondering if the "C." in C.F. Kayser stands for the same name that the "Can." on my knife stands for? I don't have a reference book on German knives. Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The C.F. in CF Kayser stands for Carl Friedrich. Carter's "Guide to German Knife and Sword Makers" has 4 listings for Kayser in addition to CF. :
C.Reinh. Kayser - 1884 to an assumed 1900
Daniel Kayser - 1824 to about 1936
Edmund Kayser - about 1901 to about 1914
Walter Kayser - listed in 1928 and 1939
There is also a Kayser & Weyersberg - listed in 1884 but assumed to be gone by 1901
There is no mention in any of them of a "Can.Kayser" stamp or the symbols in the middle of the stamp on your knife.

Looks to me like the stamp says DAN. KAYSER. Part of the D either wasn't struck, or was a worn or broken stamp die. JMO

Thanks so much Dan! I think Ken nailed it. The stamp must be Dan Kayser, and a tiny speck of the "D" in the stamp is missing or worn off.

Ken, I think you nailed it! Now that I look at it more carefully (and have your input) I think it is a "D" with a little tiny part missing. Thanks buddy!

Ken, I think you nailed it! Now that I look at it more carefully (and have your input) I think it is a "D" with a little tiny part missing. Thanks buddy!
The covers appear to me to be real tortoise shell? Although, they also appear to have shrunk. I wasn't aware that real tortoise shell would shrink?
