All About Pocket Knives

Having owned a SERE 2000 and regretting selling it I found myself a little flush and decided to look for a replacment

Seems like anymore everything is made in China.

That aren't bad, but they don't come close to the original.
I still have a original SERE. I had a Chinese one , but I sold it.

Did someone say SERE .

I bought one of the Chinese Al Mars last fall. I used it exactly 2 days and gave it to a neighbor (maybe that wasn't so nice of me, but he's not a great neighbor). The knife was, in a word, JUNK!

I just got home from the post office with my September AAPK Knife Giveaway winnings.

Well, this isn't a Chinese made Al Mar "SERE", but it is a Chinese made Al Mar "Eagle"!
I've searched for a reasonably priced model with black micarta covers for nearly 3 years with no success, and since I don't wish to pay US$300.+ I settled on this far less expensive model.
This one is 9" oal with an AUS-8 spear-point blade, SS bolsters, brass liners pins and lanyard tube, and jigged Honey bone covers.
Nicely weighted at 4.2 oz.'s and extremely sharp outta the box.
It has an easy and smooth walk and talk, and along with it's excellent fit and finish make it very nice in-hand.
I paid about 1/3 of what the model I REALLY wanted costs.
Chinese or not, it's still a pretty cool knife!
