Need help to identify!

Hi guys! This knife was a gift sent along with a knife I purchased and I know nothing about it. It's unmarked other than a patent # on the tang of the large blade that reads "Patent 2.297.855 USA" and that's it. The hardware appears to be tarnishing steel, same for the liners, brass pins, and either bone or celluloid covers. It has 2 blades and is 3 1/2" closed. There are small dents on the top bolster so chances are it's been worked on. For the covers Mark(SSk)said they might be bone cuz there's no shrinkage as well as it has a Hammer brand look to it, but when I tap on them with a finger-nail they sound kindda "plasticy" so who knows. Any help is much appreciated! Thx, Mark! 8)

It is a Utica patent number on the blade. It was originally applied for in 1942. I'm not sure how long Utica stamped the pantent number on the blades. Good looking knife though. It's been discussed a few time here on AAPK.

Thank you so much Smitty, that's great information! The 1st link has pictures of the EXACT same knife albeit in much nicer shape, and claims it's a Utica. That's good enough for me, thx again! 8)
