All About Pocket Knives

A few old European souvenir knives

Nice collection I pick up these sometimes at car boot sales ( I'm from the uk lol)

I recently acquired this tourist souvenir folder. The tang stamp is MADE IN GERMANY, and it is 3 and 5/8 inches overall closed. The marking in the handle says " Stockholm Stadshuset" which means Stockholm City Hall which is represented by the building in the picture. It has 5 blades, and is of shell handle construction. Just wondering if anyone can give and estimate of year of manufacture. Obviously not from 1945-1991 when it was called West Germany, and would have been marked as such.

Not too recently, this souvenir of France pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It made a very nice addition to my "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is an UNBRANDED, one blade, no tang stamp(s), no maker mark(s), 2 3/4" closed (not including the bail), pocket knife. Although there is NO country of origin stamped or marked, I am 99.999% positive that this pocket knife was made in Germany. Both handle sides feature landmarks of France. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. It did NOT require any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It made a very nice addition to my "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a MADE IN GERMANY, two blades, one tang stamp, 3 1/4" closed, souvenir or tourist pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "MADE IN (over) GERMANY" The main handle side says, "IDAR - OBERSTEIN" and has a complete, intact, image of a city, town or village. The other handle side says nothing, it is blank. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. No cleaning was necessary. I took some pictures and here it is.

I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did turn out to be a keeper. It made a very nice addition to my "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. It is a BREVETT 34749, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 3/8" closed (not including the loop or ring), AUTOMATIC style of pocket knife. Pull the loop or ring and the blade snaps opens. The main blade tang stamp reads "BREVETT (over) 34749." One handle side says "RICORDO DI VENEZIA" (MEMORY OF VENICE) and has an image of a gondola and gondolier. The other handle side says nothing, it is blank. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. Very little cleaning was required. I took some pictures and here it is.
