Just wondering if this is a good find and its rarity..
Schrade Old Timer 340T BLT 50 th Year.

I've never seen one.

I think Schrade made in the U.S. is stamped U.S.A

I think if the knife in the O.P. was 50 % less ornate and was made in the USA
it would be a more wonderful knife.

It is a China made knife. It is likely quite common. Schrade USA closed in 2004 and Schrade collectors are not interested in the China made knives marked with the Schrade name. However they might be decent knives and with knife collecting it is o.k. to collect whatever knives appeal to you.

They were made in China. The Schrade name today is licensed to Taylor Brands, and most are made in the PRC. These were originally sold in a decorative metal tin. I cannot remember exactly, but I believe there were about 7 or 8 different patterns used, but don't know the numbers produced. I have seen these still with the tin go anywhere from $30 to $60.
