Natenberg Straus Germany pen knife

Goins Encycolpedia Page 192 features a small pen knife marked Natenberg Straus Importing Co. Germany made from 1922-1924
I have one the same identical knife... The handles appear to be waterfall that curve around the inside backspring
This knife is in excellent condition for its age of around 100 years!!...Just curious how many were made and if the knife is rare
or maybe a different pattern!!

Yes, very cool knife. I've seen a few of these but far from common and yours looks to be in excellent shape. The handles are not waterfall but imitation ivory celluloid.

Thank you....Is imitation ivory celluloid... Is that similar to the term bakelite which was patented in 1909?

Celluloid was invented in the 1870s and is not a similar compound nor really related to bakelite. Celluloid has a problem with disintegrating which bakelite does not. Love the indian on your knife!

Thanks Gunsil I appreciate the information and finding out celluloid is older than I thought.... Oh yeah that indian is awesome...
