All About Pocket Knives

I asked this in the Ka-bar forum also, but wanted to spread the question. Does anyone know what year Ka-bar started producing locking swing blade knives with the swing guard? I can’t seem to find the info I’m looking for and defer to all of you for help.

Not sure when but it was in the very early Union Cutlery days. There is one pictured in the c. 1912-1923 in the catalog reprint I have. Gunsil might know better.
