Camillus 4 Line Project Knife

Just recently came across this old Camillus knife. Steel bolsters, liners and pins. The handles were seriously degraded but the blades seemed to be in pretty good condition.

Got it disassembled and although it’s really grungy, everything seems to be in good shape.

I’ll have to take a look at my bone inventory and see what’s suitable for this old warrior.
More to come!

Nope, I'm trying hard not to be a collector so this one will go up for sale once its completed. I think I have some nice amber jigged bone for it but I have to check my bone box.

That knife was definitely in need of rescue!
Good bones.... and I know you will do a great job on the restoration.

I can't wait to see the end result!

So I put some amber jigged bone handles on it and cleaned it up a bit. I ended up with a little bit of the pivot pin showing on a couple of the bolsters but I'm guessing its because of my lack of experience with steel bolsters. I usually get those pins to disappear about 90% of the time so I guess an occasional miss is alright.
I left the blades as I found them and it cleaned up pretty nice.

Well fellers, I just can't keep it bottled up any longer. This little beauty is currently winding its way through the labyrinth of the USPS headed to south central Kentucky! I can't wait to get her in my pocket.

Really nice work (as always) Jeff! That amber bone is perfect on that oldie. I never know when those pivot pin heads are going to show, but I agree with you, it seems to be more likely with steel bolsters and pins. No matter how careful you are and how much extra care you give it, those darn pin heads just won't disappear sometimes. ::tu:: ::tu::

Thank you sir! I just love these little Camillus cattle knives. If it is any where close to as good as the Camillus 23 I have that Jeff redone I’ll be very satisfied.
