Thank you for the support, my friend...you have always been a strong supporter of the giveaway program as evidenced by your large donations. It's no joke perspective-wise .... there's a fine assortment of donations over the past 36 months and plenty more in the planning stages.

I am not surprised by the original post. We are all here to read and talk about
knives. The greater percent of enjoying the hobby is showing your knives to
others and sometimes just giving them away so we can all have some fun.
Life has always been fragile, but since the pandemic we all need a boost
and this site does it.
Thank you to all the administrators (and everyone else behind the scenes)
that keep this site going smoothly.

Thanks Tom for taking the time and effort to put this together,

heaven knows you have enough to do already! I feel quite fortunate in that, with my extremely selective tastes there were only 4 knives I REALLY would have liked to have won for the ole' collection! We have some very generous members on this forum, thank you guys!

It is neat to see them all together at once.
Thank you for all of your work in managing the giveaway each month, and Thank you to each and every donor!

Thank you Tom, for your willingness to “herd cats” and administer the monthly GAW.
The consistent quality of knives donated by members to be given away to other members demonstrates the quality of folks here! Thanks to all who have donated, and congratulations to all who have been winners.

Since April 2021 there has been five months where it has taken more than one notification to obtain a winner for the MKGAW. I know there are a few other months, but I don't have those figures at this time.
April 2021 - 2
June 2021 - 4
Oct 2021 - 3
Dec 2021 - 2
Jan 2022 - 2
Prior to April 2021, this rarely, if ever, happened. It's hard to understand why this is happening, but it seems to be more frequently. It's a shame so many initial winners (and 2nd & 3rds) are missing out on obtaining some GREAT knives. However, I'm sure the 'final' winners are not complaining.
Here's a bit of history about the MKGAW program:
Since April 2005, through February 2022, AAPK has conducted 205 Monthly Knife Giveaways. To me, this is incredible that it has maintained a STRONG, VIABLE and AWESOME program for 17 years. What are the odds? Bryan started the MKGAW back in 2005 (according to the records of the MKGAW thread) to encourage activity and participation at AAPK. This is one of the GREATEST initiatives Bryan incorporated into his AAPK website. Due to this, it increased participation, camaraderie, friendships among knife enthusiasts and helped build this 'home away from home', if you will, to what it is today...the BEST knife collecting site on the internet. IMHO
As a side note: I have compiled the entire 205 months of every MKGAW since April 2005. It list's the month/year, whether it was a folder or a fixed blade knife, the original description of each monthly knife, the donator for each month and who won the knife for each month. I did this for my own edification so that I could have a "quick reference" and documentation of this awesome program.
If anyone would like a PDF copy of this, you can email me or PM me, and I would be more than happy to share it with you. The PDF file is 655kb in size and, at this time, 28 pages long.
