Muskrat Rescue (Camillus #20)

I posted a pic of this cammy muskrat here a couple of weeks ago with pics of a Streamline restoration. The first few pics here are that same muskrat (in obvious distress) before I got started. I really wanted to get to work on this one before it got lost again in the backlog. The thing I really like about rough black composition (AKA "gum fuddy") is that when it starts to implode, it doesn't seem to damage the metal parts the way celluloid does. I thought I had some smooth blue bone to use on this one but either I used it up before or it is hiding in my box of handle material. Anyway, this smooth "hunter green" bone from Culpepper was crying out to get used. This puppy now snaps like a brand new knife. I think the tang stamp on this one is known as the "short liner" used from 1946 to 1950.

I’m a big fan of the smooth hunter green bone from Culpepper.
