All About Pocket Knives

Does anyone know anything about these knives? I haven’t seen them before and now there are multiple listings on eBay for them. People seem to have them in quantity. Some are “factory seconds” with ground tangs. Are they current production? Who made them? Are they really USA made?

They appear to be a cheaper version of the Camillus S702 rope knife. Most notably the can opener doesn’t have the right look.

They would appear to be in compliance except no lanyard

“Revere Survival Products”, doesn’t have any direct match. But there is a company called Revere Survival Inc. they sell Liferafts and other survival stuff. No sign of this knife on their web site. But they seem like the source. Still I wonder who is making the knives.

The company makes life rafts, and these were in the survival kit. Currently, the knife of choice is a Chinese-made Datrex. Must have been a recent rebranding, as when I bought mine in 2016, they were still using the Revere Survival Products name.

Utca/Kutmaster made them. It is basically their rope knife plus a can opener. Here is an email they sent me when I asked for info about them:

We made many of those knives for Revere. We started making these in the
1980's until 2003.

I have never seen that actual specification before.

I have seen knives like the OP knife before - based on the construction and the style and color of the smooth Delrin, I believe that they were made by Utica. A notch below Camillus in quality. Before this thread, I never knew about Revere being a life raft supplier.

Thanks guys. It all makes sense now. Here is the Datrex From what I’ve read life rafts should be repacked every 5 years, and eventually need to be replaced. So it stands to reason that the knives would get sold off.

My Camillus version. Great knife for a camp kitchen or survival kit.
