Thank you for your reply. I know there are a lot of the 707UH Gambler version (the one with the scissors) but the one I am looking for is the 3rd Generation 707UH. I know there was one on Ebay a few months ago but I missed that one. Other than that one - I have not seen them for sale.

That particular knife is one of what I call a UH Grail knife. It is along with the LB4 and LB2 extremely rare. This knife is the same pattern as the third gen C627 which was handled in wood and in a stainless handled version . The 707 UH 3rd gen was in staglon and marked 707UH. It along with the LB2 and LB4 were only produced in a limited edition. Truthfully I had to stop and think about it before I realized what you were talking about. I did not have one in he house however I have a schrade floor display that I put a omplete set of all the UH folders. It was bothering me so I went out to one of my buildings that has a lot of over flow that I do not have room for in the main building. Sure enough there it was. I had forgot about that issue until I read your post. I did not take pics since it is dark and blowing pretty good. If I fall they will find me and the knives in the driveway. I did take a couple of pics ofthe same pattern 3rd Gen pattern the 627 in stainless and wood. As it was told to me was that these were special orders and really not put into the regular retail line. I am sorry I only have the one. I am curious as to what the one on ebay sold for. Good luck LT

LT - I already have the LB 4 and I (at one point) owned 5 LB2's. I believe they made them for KMART in the 80's. I gave 1 to my brother and 1 to a friend and I now have 3 left. I carry one on my key chain as they are truly handy to have around. Thank you for taking the time to research your buildings to try and find one. In the near future I am going to be posting some pictures of my 'Uncle Henry' collection for all to enjoy. I have some real 'odd balls' that I think folks would love to see and learn about.

PS - I have the 892 and the LB4 but I am missing the 707. The 707 that sold in June went for about $275. If anyone knows of one that comes up for sale or if they have one they can part with I am willing to trade my extra LB2 for it.....

I posted some pics in a new topic in general knife discussions. I did not see it come up on recent discussions so here is the same posting. I am not good with computers. I recently posted a reply regarding a rare 3 rd gen 707UH. At that time I mentioned an old custom made display that I had with all the Schrade UH folding knives. I did it years ago and had not really looked at it in some time. I went out today in the light and took a few pics of it that someone might find useful for there research or just to look at. I also included a pic of a reference book by Robert Clemente which explains each issue of the OT line and the UH line. It is the best of its kind that I know of. I do not know if it is still available. It covers just about all of the knives. I hope someone may have use for this information. LT

1. The 15UH in the case is original - the one on the table was created from a ducks unlimited body and an Old Timer (carbon blade) 15OT.
2. I have 2 of the 158UH Gut Hooks and the one in the case is unused - One I use to butcher deer (I got 5 deer this year in 2 different states).
3. The 127 and the 227 in the case are mint Schrade Waldens.
4. The LB8 in the bottom of the case on the left is a nickel silver (only made in 1985) in mint condition.
5. The knife in the case above the LB8 Nickel Silver is actually a blade stamped LB7 with the brass bolsters - 3 Pin so it is probably from the late 90's or early 2000's.
6. The knife at the top of the second case is an anomaly - It is blade stamped with 127 but it does not have the plus sign. Their were 3 different kinds of 127's over the years. The was the 127 Schrade Walden with the thumb nic all the way in the front of the blade. 1973 to 1976 they created the 127 with the thumb nic in the front of the blade but it said Shrade USA. After 1976 they moved the thumb nic to the crown of the blade (towards the middle) and added the plus symbol signifying it to be Stainless Steel. The weird thing about this knife is the grooves in the scales. Never saw that before so I had it duplicated as the blade on the one I received was just a little short. See number 10 below.
7. I had the long serrated blade custom made out of a railroad spike I found when I was a kid. I bought the handles separately.
8. All the knives on the right side that are on the table are Schrade Waldens except the last two. They are the 49rs series (498 and 491). The interesting thing about the axe set is that the axe and the knife both say Schrade Walden 141. But the one above the ax set 6th one down on the left is also a 141UH. Some say they did not make them in Uncle Henry but here it is. It appears it has the 491 from the 49rs series handle and a Schrade Walden 141UH (which came in Leather) blade. I suspect they were shutting down the Walden Factory and then starting the Ellenville location and they had the 49rs series handle ready so they used left over Walden blades to get it out the door. Regardless, it is a cool knife. The remaining Schrade Walden knives on the right hand side are (171UH, 147UH, 172UH, 148UH, and the 165UH).
9. Down the middle we have the 127UH from after 1976 with the thumb nic at the crown and next to that is the Schrade Army knife. I have serial number 25 which is when I bought it in honor of working for the Army for 25 years (currently going on 27).
10. This is the original 127UH that I purchased on ebay. It was either a prototype, lunch box special (Johnny Cash), or it was fabricated.
11. PH1 and PH2 in Stag - Love the feel of those two.
12. Below the PH1 and PH2 is the 100th year anniversary LB8 and another LB8 in Nickle Silver (I use this one).
13. On the left below the case is the 15UH I speak to in item 1 above.
14. I use all the knives on the left hand side below the case as user knives. They are (171UH, 15UH, 152Uh, 165UH, 144UH, 158UH, 167UH, 168UN, 164UH, 162).
15. The others are the small ones. I hope you all enjoyed the picture and the story.

I forgot to mention that the LB8 next to the Army LB8 is actually a switchblade. If you press the Uncle Henry Shield the knife blade opens up and locks in place. I thought the long winded explanation of my knives would solicit more feedback than I have received but so far all I have received is a Private Message and an e-mail. I prefer to keep my communications focused on my true love (Schrade Knives) and not answer personnal questions.

To be honest, I was a little overwhelmed by it! I am a knife accumulator, not a collector, and I cannot imagine the dedication that it takes to assemble such a group of fine (and rare!) blades. There are so many that I really have trouble focusing on any one knife to drool over it.

Was the LB8 switchblade a factory made or did someone convert it over? Great collection!!

Reverand - Thank you for your comments. It has taken me a while to amass. I looked for the 15UH Limited Edition for over 7 years and I finally found one that was for sale in Australia. The gentleman down under did not want to ship it to the US because of shipping issues he had in the past. It took some patience but I was able to work out the logistics and purchase it. The 2nd 158UH Guthook was also an interesting adventure. I saw a picture on the web someone had posted of the knife and and I was able to figure out that person's ebay username after about 6 months of research and postings I viewed. I contacted that person and he still had the knife and he was kind enough to sell it to me.

C-WADE7 - Thank you for your question. Schrade did not make an LB8 UH Switchblade. I had it made for me (custom). Unfortunately, the person that made it for me is no longer with us. I don't know of anyone else that can/does that level of customization. The shield sits perfectly in it's original slot on the knife and it opens up very crisp. No safety - LOL. An unsuspecting person would never know the shield is the button. I have never seen another one like it and I am not sure why. To me - it seemed natural to put a button under the shield to open it up. Wish I could have more made as it is one of my favorites.

Unreal!!! I started collecting Old Timers and Uncle Henry knives when I got started in this hobby and then left them by the wayside as I went on to collect other knife brands. I have recently come back to these knives only to find out that there are a bunch of "rare" knives that I did not even know existed. I started to figure it out when I bought an old Schrade display and I struggled trying to find a 123ot. As I searched for this knife, I began to realize that others were more scarce than I ever knew and got me chasing a 2ot along with others.
This thread is very informative on those "rare" knives.
Uncle Henry, you have a very neat collection.... I can just imagine the "hunt" as you accumulated these knives.
I love this about AAPK as you never know what you are going to learn when you log on.

Thank you for your reply. I do not collect OT's but I did hear that some are very hard to find. I know they are out there so it just takes time and patience to find the ones you want. That being said.... As I get older I find that I forget things a lot easier but the strange thing is that I never forget the hard to find knives. Keeps my on my toes I guess. Uncle Henry

I have one correection. In item 8 above I stated the Axe was a 141. The axe and the knife above it are actually a 147. The second one down on the right is also a 147. All three are Schrade Walden's. I wanted to send the correction for historical purposes. Uncle Henry
