All About Pocket Knives

Hi! I came across this knife in my uncles storage unit. Unfortunately any markings on it have worn off. Google suggests it may be a Solinger hunting knife. Any ideas on what it is, or it's value, as I'll be trying to sell it, would be a great help! Thanks everyone!

Your knife looks typically German. Given the condition and lack of any identifying marks I woud say the value to be in the $25 range to the right buyer.

I think $25 is generous. Just my opinion, but I see them go for less.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't sitting on something worth over 100$ when I post it for sale for $10 lol much appreciated!!
I've also cone across 2 other pocket knives would u mind helping me out if they're worth anything at all?

Okay, not sure if I should be starting a new thread, I've never used a forum like this before! I found 2 old multi tool knives...one says C.JUL.HERBERTZ ROSTFREI IMPORT on the blade and the other is quite rusty but I think it says GG Klein Tools Chicago USA? Are these just little cheapy knives or can I quit my job tomorrow?

Kelsey, If you type into google the word Herbertz considerable information will arrive at your computer. With an unknown knife, I always begin with google. For an old knife to have some value there needs to be some collector interest in it. Is it desirable? Another important consideration is condition. Has some of its blade been sharpened off over the years? Is there rust and spotting? This will not deter some collectors if the knife is one they want. Attempting to improve the appearance of the knife may lower its value for many collectors. A simple removal of dirt and grime is acceptable.

I hope others can help you with your brands of interest. Again, I suggest you start with google.

I've got a similar scout type knife with no tang stamp , these came from Sheffield and Germany.

These knives are apparently out of stock, at least I didn't find one listed for sale. Lots of pictures, all out of stock. Walmart had them at one time apparently, check it out at https://www.walmart.com/ip/Burl-Wood-Fi ... e/23328976

Thanks!! I saw quite a range of similar looking Winchester knives that went from 20$ upwards of 200$ plus!! I was just curious if the one I have was on the higher or lower end...but with my luck it'll be the least expensive!! Paul that is a nice looking knife but the sheath is also something very special!
If it is original I would guess it is from the 9th World Scout Jamboree, held in 1957 at Sutton Park, Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England. I collect scout memorabilia and have never seen another one like your sheath.

B-P on the logo stands for Baden-Powell, 1857 is the year of his birth, 1907 is the year of the 1st scout camp on Brownsea Island near Poole in Dorset.
