This knife has no sentimental value. Would it make sense to have it repaired or just convert it to a single blade?

My son brought this one over as a possible candidate for repairs. He claims that I carried it for years, but I have no memory of it, nor do I recall having used a knife as a pry-bar and breaking out blades since I was a kid. I may be getting older than I realize...Or maybe he is gaslighting me....

Kind of a useless post without a picture.

Don't you know Clara Voyant? Apparently the pic didn't attach. I will edit the original post.

Is that a Muskrat or a -47 Stockman? Same frame. 😉

It's a 6318 SS, circa 1990-1993.

I'd make a single-blade knife out of it, personally. In fact, that's just what I did with this knife--the first one I ever rebuilt. I made a lot of mistakes, but I also learned a lot, and the knife turned out OK. Looks like a similar knife (it was originally a stockman, though I don't know the model number). I made the scales from some acrylic that I bought (I think) on eBay.

It is so difficult to get replacement blades for a Case that I would seriously consider making it a single blade.
People are asking outrageous prices for broken Case knives. Well, for most any broken knife, but especially a Case.

Thanks, Steve. ::handshake::

I like the single blade plan. ::nod:: It would be like a boy's (in da hood) knife. ::super_happy::

Give it to a local kid or a Cub Scout - with permission from their parent of course. When I was growing up knives like that were the hand-me-downs I got. I was tickled to get one, broken blades and all. ::tu::

Definitely go with the single blade plan!
