Not bad for a $10 fee. She was pretty beat up.

Buck definitely takes care of their customers. I've been very happy with the ones I have sent them.

Wow, what a turnaround! I'm amazed they were able to remove those deep dents. Buck and Victorinox are my favorite companies in terms of warranty, as they will try to repair older models if they have them on hand. Victorinox fully rebuilt an 84mm model that was more than 50 years old, and replaced the (previously crudely repaired by a prior owner) scissors, which, in 84mm form, haven't been in regular production for almost 40 years.
I have the 110 my great-uncle had. Bolsters are pretty badly chewed up; and a chunk split from the handle, despite maintenance. I'm on the fence as the new ebony looks different than those on the '74-80 knife. The blade is pretty worn, but I want to keep the original. I also have a same age 112 that was in worse condition than the seller described. It does need a new blade, as not only is it worn down heavily from sharpening, there is a deep chip towards the tip.

Looks great. I know there must be a special reward in heaven for the person who works on making these 110's like new again.

I'm inclined to agree. That must have taken a lot of work. It's almost as if Buck does this service for free when you think about it. They can't be making much money from it, if any when you consider the labor cost involved and the fact that Buck pays for shipping back to the customer.
The $10 fee was for the blade replacement and the Spa service comes free with that. If you only want the Spa service it's only $6.95 and they even sharpen the blade.
This is more like a favor to customers than a business transaction. Very admirable.
