Here’s one I did a while back. I knew there was little chance I’d ever score a Stew’s blade , so I decided to do one as close as I could. Swapped blades from a standard run 15A and added Culpeppers amber sawcut bone.

UH.... I know that sometimes my elevator down go slam to the top.... BUT.....

I have tried every search I can think of and I can't find it....

I want some!

I can't find the Amber sawcut bone on Culpepper's website either, In fact the entire website had changed since last time I was in there last!
From looking at their prices I see inflation must have affected the price of knife handle material, as well as gasoline and groceries!

Yep, I have even tried a general web search and I can't find anyone that currently has saw cut bone.
I guess that pattern of bone is just not popular or something..???

I had to google Stew’s blade. It’s a beautiful knife for sure.

Make your own. Get an Angus femur from the pet store, cut with a bandsaw, dye and install. I have made replacement bone slabs for several knives with Angus, and though the finished knife didn't have saw cut finish, that was only because I sanded the saw marks out. Mike, that Voos I pictured a week or two ago was rehandled with Angus on the mark side. I jigged that one, but could have easily left it saw cut. I was on Culpeppers website yesterday and thought their prices have risen sharply, like everyone elses.

Hmmmm.......

Sounds like if prices are going up on bone (like EVERYTHING else) we are gonna have to start learning to cut, jig and dye our own bone cover material.

I have seen that a lot of bone that I have bought doesn't have dye that goes in very deep.
I think with a pressure cooker type situation where you suck out the air (is that right?) you can cold dye your own slabs.

Sounds like a new experiment for this winter.
