KaBar Loom Fixer

Back on July 17th, Steve (knifeaholic) listed a KaBar Loom Fixer for sale as in need of rehab. I had been watching for a Loom Fixer and as it was only $20 I bought it. The blades had some rust and lots of epoxy or something on them. A few scratches on the handles. I did some clean up on it but not a lot on the handles. So now I am a member of the Loom Fixer Club. First two pics before and the last four after. Thanks again Steve.

That’s awesome! I’ve been looking for one of those myself. It’ll be a great one to tote. Well done!

This one is no exception.

Good Job, my friend!
Cleaning up an old knife, not polishing it up, just knockin' the rust off and smoothing out the rough places on knives like your Kabar is always very satisfying. Something we might never use but somebody may get some use out of them. They always make great gifts for youngsters that are interested and have their heads screwed on straight (w/parents permission).

Thanks Wade. I wish you luck in finding one.
Thanks redrider, Madmarco, Skip.
Philip I've got a couple of young fellows at church I've given knives to. I'm a knock the rust off kind of guy. I'm certainly not a knife mechanic. Thanks
Herb I accept the welcome. Thank you.

I like all LoomFixer knives, but the KA-BAR’s are my favorite. They feel so good in hand and disappear into a pocket. Congratulations on finding yours.
Mine were all like yours, before I knocked the rust off of them.
I always have a Buck 110 or a larger fixed blade on my belt I find the two blades on a LoomFixer compliment the larger knife quite well.

Thank you. A little elbow grease goes a long way.
My four knives have three different tang stamps. Yours has the same one I have 2 of. I guess it’s the most common

Help a fledging out here. Why are they "Loom fixers?" I sort of expected some tool specific to the trade.

A loom fixer is a textile worker who adjusts and repairs looms. Knives are knives but some (such as this one) were designed for a trade. Similar to a hammer is to a carpenter, it can be used for other situations.
