Good evening! Is there a good source for information on this Company? It is a really nice knife!

I think it's a really nice too.
If you do a search on Electric Cutlery you will find several other examples but probably not much history.
You will have to check Goin's encyclopedia and other sources for history.

That is a nice knife. Stamped on both mark and pile sides. Those handles!!

Thanks! It feels tight and like a high quality knife. What kind of wood would typically be used for a knife like this?

It’s a Hawbill Pruner. Scales look like redwood as I think I see a red tinge to them though redwood does turn black with time. Doesn’t show Newark or Walden so I’m thinking it was made in Newark by Friedman & Lauterjung between 1890-1909. Electric was sold to the New York Knife Co after that and production of the Electric knives were made in the NYKC factory in Walden from 1910-1920 when they then dropped that trademark. If it were made in Walden the scales were definitely redwood. I really believe it was made prior to 1910. A lot of experts on here that are a lot smarter than I. I’d like to buy it if you ever decide to sell it.

Great knife, I have a mint example and will take a picture later today. Knife was made by Friedmann & Lauterjung and I believe made either in their NJ plant or possibly Germany. I believe the knife was made before 1890.

I would think Germany since the o in Co.is underlined.
