There is nothing on the brochure (which is printed in English and French) in the box to date it.The number W1760 is not stamped anywhere on the knife. I have enclosed a couple more pictures of the box. So dating can be assumed to be 1992-2006.zzyzzogeton wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 11:34 pm Check the paperwork in the box. Camillus bought Western's IP in 1991. 1992 was the first year Camillus was responsible for making Western brand knives. 2006 was the last year Camillus made anything. They filed for backruptcy in February 2007, but had quit making anything long before Christmas, the way I was told.
The Western 1760 does not show up in any Camillus catalog between 1992 and 2006.
The 1760 is there as the S1760 under Camillus' knives for 1992. Later, the model numbers become 1760 (boxed), 1760P (polybagged), 1760BP (carded/blister pack) and 1763 (boxed - USMC stamped).
