This month dlr110 (David) has decided to donate his VENTURE by H.M. Slater of Sheffield, England.

This beauty features a single-blade carbon steel Jackknife with a spearpoint blade. She’s wearing brown stag handles with brass pins, nickel/silver bolsters and liners. This one has its factory edge and in all these years has never been sharpened! I’m happy to report that she has good snap with no wobble. With this knife you get a blade that is very tight both opening and closing.

As a bonus, the winner will also receive a signed copy of my first published book, “Folding Knives, Starting Your Collection” and a signed copy of my “The Cutting Edge: Man's Most Important Invention". Good luck!

Instructions for entering the giveaway...

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 999.

You will have until September 30th (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number after which entries will not be considered. The winner will be determined by the Illinois State Lottery evening pick three drawing on September 30th. The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

You must be 18 years of age or older to play. The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have 5 days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within the 5 days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.

The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK Private-Message (PM), and they will have 3 days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within the 3 days, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next-place winner on the list without going over.

Gorgeous knife, David...and a very generous donation to AAPK MKG.

I would truly appreciate a treasure such as this, and to have the opportunity to have two autographed books by you. Hopefully, my pick of the numbers will bring these home to me. If not, then they will be a blessing to another AAPK member.

Shocked and excited to learn this news before I logged on from my friend Olde Cutler (who is celebrating his 50th Wedding Anniversary btw). Congrats Jim and Anita!

I am super happy to win this knife and authored book. No, not changing my handle to LuckyDog but fitting perhaps.
